Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has decided to represent Morocco at senior international level, turning his back on France after months of intense speculation.

The 18-year-old sensation is now expected to be included in Morocco's final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The decision was confirmed after France head coach Didier Deschamps unveiled his 26-man World Cup squad, with Bouaddi's name notably absent. The plan had already been in motion, clearing the path for the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to secure his commitment.
