World Cup 2026: Ivory Coast join elite list of African nations to reach knockout stages

Ivory Coast have officially become the eighth African nation in football history to reach the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup, achieving the feat for the first time in their fourth appearance at the tournament.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions beat Curacao 2-0 to finish second in Group E with six points.
