Kobbie Mainoo among top performers in Manchester Unitedâ??s 2-1 triumph over Brentford

England youngster of Ghanaian descent, Kobbie Mainoo, put up another top performance for Manchester United on Monday night, helping the side to secure an important 2-1 win against Brentford in the English Premier League.

In the Round 34 fixture played at Old Trafford, the midfielder started the game for his side and lasted the entire duration of the contest.

Paired with experienced Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo delivered a standout display, and finished the game among the highest rated players.

On the matchday, Manchester United took total control of the encounter in the first half, scoring twice and making it difficult for Brentford to find a way back.

Casemiro opened the scoring in the 11th minute after he was assisted by Harry Marguire before Bruno Fernandes assisted Benjamin Sesko for the second goal in the 43rd minute.

With a comfortable lead at the break, Kobbie Mainoo and his Manchester United teammates weathered the storm created by Brentford in the second half to claim all three points, thanks to a 2-1 victory.

The only consolation goal for Brentford came in the 87th minute through Mathias Jensen.

Kobbie Mainoo finished the game with a rating of 7.7 per data from Flashscore, only behind Bruno Fernandes [8.0] and Casemiro [9.1].

With his consistent top performances for Manchester United since Michael Carrick took charge of the club, the youngster is pushing for a place in England’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
