The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr Simon Madjie, has described the newly inaugurated Ghana Trade House in Philadelphia as a strategic gateway for expanding Ghana’s exports, attracting investment and strengthening commercial relations between Ghana and the United States.

Mr Madjie joined government officials, trade promotion agencies and business leaders at the inauguration of the facility, an initiative spearheaded by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) to deepen Ghana’s commercial presence in the American market.

The inauguration took place on the sidelines of the Invest Ghana USA Business Forum and Exhibition, which brought together policymakers, investors and private sector actors to explore new opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.

According to Mr Madjie, the Ghana Trade House represents a critical national asset that will enhance Ghana’s global economic footprint by providing a permanent platform to connect Ghanaian businesses with opportunities in the United States.

He said the initiative was expected to open new markets for Ghanaian exporters, attract foreign direct investment and strengthen Ghana’s competitiveness as a preferred trade and investment destination on the African continent.

Mr Madjie reaffirmed the commitment of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre to work closely with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, relevant government institutions, Ghana’s diplomatic missions, the private sector and Ghanaian business networks in the diaspora to translate increased international visibility into concrete trade and investment outcomes.

He noted that stronger institutional collaboration would be essential in ensuring that Ghanaian businesses were able to take full advantage of opportunities available in the United States market.

The Ghana Trade House is expected to provide a range of specialised services, including market intelligence, trade advisory support, export matchmaking, investment promotion and guidance on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), positioning it as a one-stop centre for Ghanaian exporters and investors seeking to establish or expand operations in the United States.

Officials believe the facility will play a pivotal role in supporting Ghana’s export diversification agenda while strengthening bilateral commercial ties and increasing the participation of Ghanaian businesses in one of the world’s largest consumer markets.

The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to promote non-traditional exports, attract strategic investments and leverage international partnerships to accelerate economic growth and job creation.
